How important is the ACT?
The ACT is the most important test a high school student will take. Colleges determine acceptance and scholarships based on many factors, but it is largely based on students ACT scores. Making sure that you get the best score you possibly can is extremely important. Even a one point increase can mean thousands of dollars in scholarship money.
What if my ACT score does not increase?
There are many factors that determine an increase in a student's ACT score: sleeping well the night before the test, reviewing content in the days leading up to the test, and how well students respond to preparation material. If your ACT score does not increase after five+ hours of tutoring, Matt will offer two free one-hour sessions.
Why is ACT tutoring so expensive?
For every hour-long tutoring session, Matt spends at least an hour outside of the classroom analyzing each student's ACT, writing individualized material, and preparing lesson plans for each session. Making sure that each session is as productive and effective as possible takes time. Instead of always using the same material, Matt prefers to customize material to fit each student's needs. This makes sessions much more enjoyable for students as well.
How many tutoring sessions do I need?
This depends on what your goal score is and how much time and effort you put into achieving those goals. If you are looking for a large increase in your ACT score, more sessions are needed. Since you do not have to sign up for all of your sessions at once, feel free to schedule one appointment at a time with Matt.
Where do tutoring sessions take place?
Tutoring sessions can take place in public venues (libraries, coffee shops, etc.) or in the comfort of your own home. If you are not comfortable with either of these options, contact Matt with your problems/concerns.
